So, who am I? I'm the Fat Lazy Guy, FLG for short. As you may have been able to gather, I'm fat and fairly lazy (or at least I used to be). I live in little old New Zealand (South Auckland to be a bit more precise), and I'm 24 years old.
I've been overweight for most of my life (there was a period between 0 and 7 where I was skinny-normal weight). In High School I was around 130 kgs / 286.6 lbs. When I started University at 20, I was 150 kgs / 330.7 lbs. The pressure of University got too much for me and I dropped out before the end of my first year. I fell quite deep into depression and used food to try and calm/distract myself, which is how I ballooned up to 229 kgs / 504.8 lbs.
How did I lose all that weight? It started with getting my mind right. New Zealand is so awesome... I went to my GP, told him I thought I might be depressed, and he got me a referral to a psychologist with 6 fully subsidised sessions. I'm not saying I was cured in those sessions, but it gave me the foundation, the confidence to work on losing weight.
I believe in simplicity and science when it comes to the mechanics of weight loss. That is, when you eat less calories than your body burns (bmr + activity), you'll lose weight. There are no magic pills, no magic supplements, no magic foods or diet plans, no magic exercise equipment. As such, I don't really talk about eating or exercise routines as the specifics are not important. It's all about whatever works for you.

As for me, the person, I'm highly complex and deep... ;) I like playing and watching sports. I love listening to music, playing the guitar, singing (check out some videos of me doing just that). I'm trying to watch less t.v. I love a good cup of coffee.
